Introducing John Kerr

Lead Manufacturer of the EDV-2006 Electronic Drain Valve

Did you know that Van Air Systems manufacturers the EDV-2006 Electronic Drain Valve right here in Lake City, PA? John Kerr has worked at Van Air Systems for more than 13 years and is the lead manufacturer of this product. John is responsible for all aspects of EDV production and quality control.

Q: How are the EDV Drain Valves created?
A: Each Drain Valve has a pre-printed face plate. I set knobs and washers on the face plate. The bottom plate with the circuit board is attached to the top with the face plate. They are then placed into an ultra sonic welder for final assembly.

Q: What is the testing process for the EDV? A: We have very thorough testing procedures to ensure the quality of each timer. After the timers are assembled each one is mounted to a test panel (pictured left). I make sure that each timer cycles correctly for at least 24 hours. The design has really proven itself in the field.
