• High Adsorption Capacity -
With a high surface area and excellent pore distribution, Van Air activated
alumina has an extremely high water adsorption capacity. Therefore initial
cost, energy consumption, and operating costs are reduced through smaller bed
sizes and/or longer operating cycles.
• Resists Liquid Water -
Since our activated alumina is more resistant to water, slugging due to the failure of
aftercooler, separator, or drain trap will not easily degrade the activated alumina beads. The
adsorption capacity of the desiccant can usually be restored after complete regeneration.
• Low Abrasion -
Van Air activated alumina has a low abrasion factor which insures less dusting
during tower depessurization and tower loading. The low abrasion property of our
activated alumina also reduces pressure drop and the chance of plugging an
afterfilter with dust.
• High Crush Strength -
The high crush strength of Van Air activated alumina is important during loading
of the desiccant towers. Therefore, activated alumina is an excellent prebed
material when used with other types of desiccants.
• Uniform Bead Sizes -
Van Air activated alumina is a uniformly sized bead. Therefore, it provides a low
pressure drop to conserve energy.
