Wet receiver tanks in compressed air systems are susceptible to internal corrosion even when coated on the inside. Corrosion falls to the bottom of the tank and mixes with condensed water. Flakes of rust and paint gather in the tank and then within the drain pipe. These particulates eventually clog most automatic drains, which leads to an accumulation of water in the receiver tank and possible flooding of the air system.
The MDV400 series drain valves are specially designed for high reliability in wet receiver tanks and other condensate draining applications with high scale and dirt concentrations. MDV400 drains high-torque, full-port motorized ball valves with an integrated adjustable timer. These drains are not zero air loss drains; they are zero clog drains. The MDV400 should be installed whenever high reliability is needed in a tough application.
